I don’t love selfies. I don’t like posing. But when you’ve worked as hard as I have. And you see results. I want everyone to look at my day 1. I was out of shape. I felt terrible. Worse than I can assure you I even looked. And I would look in the mirror every day and tell myself that I was going to stop eating so poorly and that I would work out more. And every day I would break down and give in. What happens when you stop lying to yourself? What happens when you eat right? What happens when you stop being so weak? You see the results. And we still have a month left…

Technically, they are Dalek socks from Doctor Who. But who’s really keeping track?!?

Well, I mean, if you really want to know… the Daleks are an extraterrestrial race of cyborgs created by the scientist Davros during the final years of a thousand-year war against the Thals. He genetically modified his race (known as the Kaleds), and integrated them with a tank-like, robotic, mechanical shell. His final modification was to remove their ability to feel pity, compassion, or remorse. The Daleks soon came to view themselves as the supreme race in the universe and began a conquest of universal domination and extermination.

Actually, this weight loss challenge reminds me of a Doctor Who Season 4 episode about a new weight-loss pill tested in London by Adipose Industries. The Doctor is investigating Adipose Industries, which is marketing a special diet pill to the people of London. They find that the pill’s slogan, The Fat Just Walks Away, is literal. The pills use latent body fat to parthenogenetically create small white aliens called Adipose that spawn at night and leave the host’s body.

But they are cute 😀

Day 5 http://nerfherd.net/day-5/ http://nerfherd.net/day-5/#respond Tue, 07 Jan 2014 00:27:32 +0000 http://nerfherd.net/?p=551 So day 5 of our 90 day get healthy has been quite interesting and challenging. The morning started out great. Got up, drank my bottled water and had my egg white omelet. Yum yum yum. Okay, just kidding. I still miss my morning coke, lol. It is so cold here that I planned on watching a little tv and working out around 10 in the morning. Since we have the treadmill and gym right here I didn’t have to go out into the dreaded -30 temperature. Yep…..that’s right. If i wanted this kind of weather I would live in the arctic. Anyway, I noticed the house wa getting really cold and realized the furnace broke down again. This after on just this past Saturday, the so called furnace repairman got 1200.00 and said it was a brand new furnace. Nope, not at all. IT ISNT WORKING. So, there went my morning workout. Now I’m upset. So instead of walking on the treadmill I ate an apple and a cup of healthy popcorn. While still waiting for the furnace repairman, I sat and thought about the last few days and a smile came across my face. I realized how happy I am that my son asked me to join in this 90 day get fit and healthy challenge. I am proud of myself. I never thought I could give up coke or eat 5 healthy meals a day and to top it off exercise. But day 5 and I am doing it. For this I am very happy. But here i sit, after eating a healthy turkey chili with fresh tomatoes and onions, still waiting for the furnaceman. I give up. Am I frustrated that I don’t have furnace heat when it is -30 outside, yes definitely. Am I happy that I am continuing this challenge with my son and proud that I am sticking to eating healthy and taking care of myself, ABSOLUTELY. I am looking forward to each and every day and seeing an improvement within myself.

Uh oh…..I am used to getting out of bed and drinking a coke and not eating all day. Boy, was I in for a new experience. Today I woke up and had a hot tea and then a bottle of water. I know….I’m shocked too. For breakfast i has an egg white with spinach and onions. An apple for a snack. For lunch I had a quinoa burger and another water. At this point I think my body is going into shock, lol. And then dinner consisted of a small chicken breast and lots of asparagus. This day definitely proved to be a challenge but I am kind of excited to see what happens the next 90 days. To top my day off I walked on the treadmill for what seemed like forever, but I actually only walked 3 miles. But for me, I say hurrah!!! Looking forward to tomorrow.
